If you elect to replace a missing tooth with a dental implant, you will have a 4-8 month healing process from extraction of your tooth to having the implant restored with an implant dental crown.
Dental implants only replace the teeth that are missing and do not affect the adjacent teeth. Because they do not require special tools to maintain like a bridge, and you are able to brush and floss like you always have, they feel more like your natural teeth.
Although a dental implant takes some more time and a few more visits than a dental bridge, the long-term result is ideal and predictable.
